Problem: Music is deeply tied to mood and energy, but current streaming platforms rely mostly on user-selected playlists or algorithms based on past behavior not how you’re actually feeling in the moment. There's no easy, real-time way for users to experience music that truly matches their physical and emotional state. My Role: Designer/ User Research Solution: Spotify Pulse introduces a smart ring that tracks your BPM (heart rate) and emotional signals, syncing directly with Spotify to curate playlists that match your current mood and energy level. Whether you're winding down, working out, or needing a boost, Pulse delivers a perfectly-tuned soundtrack without the user having to lift a finger. The brand extension feels futuristic yet personal, blending health tech with Spotify’s culture of emotional connection through music.
