African Student Union

Problem The African Student Union at Syracuse University needed a cohesive visual identity that reflected the diversity, pride, and vibrancy of African cultures. The existing branding lacked unity and did not fully capture the organization’s energy, limiting student engagement and weakening its presence on campus. Solution A comprehensive design system was developed to refresh the African Student Union’s visual identity across social media and event materials. Incorporating traditional African patterns, bold color palettes, and modern typography, the system establishes consistent guidelines while balancing cultural heritage with contemporary student voices. The result strengthens visibility, reinforces authenticity, and fosters a sense of pride and belonging within the African student community at Syracuse.
